Grounding
Why do we ground?
Grounding is the art that keeps someone rooted in the now & the present. The reason as to why we ground is to ensure that we don’t float, become too light-headed in what we do and it also assures us that we are deeply rooted in the now and in this reality and they can also be extra helpful to neutralise intense feelings of fear and anxiousness.
The belief behind grounding and centering allows you to keep you focused on the imminent moment of the present day. Centering also encourages you to keep abreast of your energy, whether it is scattered in nature, it just brings your awareness back to this reality now.
Grounding is a natural approach to keeping yourself anchored in this reality, and place of being. Many factors can help with grounding. Sometimes you can hug a tree and feel the energy spreading through you from this tree; which is a beautiful way of grounding if you like being out in nature. If that does not work for you; another way is to simply be and picture yourself as a tree and seeing your branches opening up in front of you opening your awareness further, so that you can work and receive the much needed universal healing energy to this day.
There are other ways of grounding though but its all about finding what works specifically for you. I started off using the roots method in the beginning but found it was remotely working with mother earth and tree roots, too. So now when I want to ground, I now use a simple way of approach which suits me ok and I’ll visualize a beautiful red column of light descending down from my root chakra/the base chakra/center point of all grounding, through the earth star chakra - a chakra that is located about six inches below my feet, through down to mother earth - I’ll ask her if its ok to ground and work with her before visualising the beautiful red beam of light down to the earths’ center, which in turn, grounds my energy in the process.
